The mystery Merseyside writers of a 20-year-old message in a bottle that washed up on the shores of Ireland last week have been found.
The bottle, which dates from the 2002 World Cup, was found on Curracloe Beach in Ireland last Thursday by Brian Golden, 36. The curious note mentioned Eastham Ferry and appeared to have floated for around 250km from Merseyside to south-east Ireland.
The ECHO put out an appeal to find the original senders of the message – and managed to track them down. AJ Morgan, from Bromborough, saw the story and recognised his handwriting.
