A man pulled his friend for one mile down the River Clyde after their fishing boat capsized.
Hugh McGowan, 60, was out on the river near Cardross with his pal, 75, on July 14 when a piece of wood - over twice the size of the boat - hit the side of their 15ft vessel and caused it to upend in the water.
The Port Glasgow native said after a few minutes his friend began to struggle in the water, and he decided to start swimming while pulling him along.
