A man has been pulled from the water after emergency services descended on New Brighton waterfront.
HM Coastguard was called to the scene following reports of a person in the water shortly before 2pm this afternoon. Videos shared with the ECHO show a helicopter landing at the scene.
Images show a police cordon in place on part of the promenade. A spokesperson from HM Coastguard told the ECHO: "HM Coastguard sent rescue teams from Crosby and Wirral, along with lifeboats from New Brighton, after receiving reports of a person in the water at New Brighton.

"The first call came in at around 1.50pm today (August 16). A man was passed into the care of the ambulance service."
Both Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have also confirmed they were at the scene. The ECHO has approached North West Ambulance Service for further comment.
