Man pulled from River Clyde and taken to hospital as emergency services race to scene

A man has been taken to hospital after being pulled from the River Clyde this morning.

Police were alerted to reports of a man in the water near the Broomielaw in Glasgow at around 9.30am.

Emergency services including the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene and pulled the man from the river.

He has been taken to hospital although the extent of his injuries are not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a man in the River Clyde off the Broomielaw in Glasgow around 9.30am on Sunday, 20 February.

“The man has been recovered safely with the assistance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and taken to hospital.”
