A guest on the Antiques Roadshow brought along an item he found in a charity shop and was stunned to learn just what it was worth.
Sunday evening's episode showed Fiona Bruce and the team visit Sefton Park' s Palm House, where a number of people brought along heirlooms and trinkets to be valued. One man brought along a vase he had bought at a charity shop for £7.99.
Chinese ceramics expert Lars Tharp was immediately impressed with the item. Mr Tharp said: "In fact, it's not one vase, it's two vases. There's another vase inside, that's actually quite a tricky thing to do. What's really special about this is the shape. This is one of the oldest shapes known to Chinese culture, this is an ancient shape. The question is 'is it ancient'?"

It was ancient. In fact, Mr Tharp recognised the vase as being from the Ming Dynasty. He estimated the charity shop purchase at being worth between £5,000 and £10,000. Hearing this, the man smiled and punched the air. And many viewers watching at home found his reaction heart-warming.
Taking to Twitter, Rebecca Dundon said: "That man's reaction was lovely." Heather B said: "Amazing! Ming dynasty, a very happy man", while Lost_In_Films_ said: "Who else was rooting for this chap?"
Milominder said: "Absolute legend" while Teena Massam said: "How cute was that man and his reactions".
