Man needs eye surgery after being attacked for asking for Tube help at Earl’s Court station

A man needed eye surgery after being attacked at an Underground station in west London for asking which way a Tube was going.

The victim was at Earl’s Court Underground Station at roughly 5pm on January 14, when he asked a fellow male passenger if a train was travelling to Notting Hill.

The other passenger then allegedly assaulted the victim, leaving him with facial injuries to his eye which needed surgery.

British Transport Police on Tuesday released CCTV images of a man they want to trace and speak to in connection with the incident.

Anyone who knows him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40. In both cases, quote reference number 420 of 14/01/23.
