Police have issued an appeal after a 37-year-old man was left with serious head injuries following an alleged assault in the city centre area. The reported incident happened just before 4.30am on Sunday, May 21, the force said.
Officers were called to the junction of Clumber Street and Lower Parliament Street, after reports of a fight with two men running from the scene. A 37-year-old man had a large cut to his head and was unresponsive, Nottinghamshire Police said.
However he was breathing. He had been allegedly punched and kicked, the force said.

Officers are viewing CCTV footage of the incident and a number of lines of inquiry are currently underway. Police Investigation Officer Russell Oliver said: “This was a nasty assault and left the victim with serious head injuries.
“We are determined to catch those responsible and working hard to track down the offenders through our CCTV inquiries. We are aware that it happened on a busy street with lots of members of the public around after enjoying a night out in the city.
“We are also aware that some members of the public filmed the incident on their mobile phones and we would ask them to come forward with the footage as it would help with our investigation. Anyone with information is also asked to get in touch including the two men that ran from the scene.”
