Man left with facial injuries after sick early morning attack on Ayrshire street

A man has been left with facial injuries after being attacked in the dead of night.

The 39-year-old was assaulted on Kilmarnock's Northcraig Road at 4.40am on Friday.

The victim was rushed to hospital with facial injuries and later release, police have confirmed.

Police are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack.

Detective constable Darren McDaid of Kilmarnock police station said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the assault.

“Anyone with information or any drivers with dashcam footage should get in touch with officers quoting incident number 0426 of July 15.”
