Gardaí in Galway are investigating an incident that occurred on Wednesday evening which left one man in hospital with serious injuries.
On June 15, gardaí, as well as emergency services, were rushed to the scene of a suspected assault that happened in Galway City.
The incident reportedly took place at around 7:30pm in the Eyre Square area leaving one man, aged in his 40s, seriously injured. Following the incident, the man was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told Galway Beo that no arrests have been made yet and investigations are currently ongoing.
The garda spokesperson explained: “Gardaí attended the scene of a suspected assault that occurred on the 14 June 2023 at 7:30pm at Eyre Square, Galway City.
"A man in his 40s was found seriously injured and was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment. No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”
