A dog who has been compared to Will Ferrell has left the internet in hysterics.
Layla has become a social media sensation thanks to her uncanny likeness to the American actor.
Owner Thomas Green, 28, shared his dog's picture on Twitter after a friend pointed out that the unlikely duo looked alike.
He jokily tweeted: “Someone said my dog looks like Will Ferrell and I can’t unsee it now.”
The post quickly went viral racking up more than 260,000 likes - and prompted people to share snaps of their own dogs' celebrity look-alikes.
Thomas, from Houston, Texas, said: “It was actually a dear friend of mine who said that Layla looked like Will Ferrell.
“I just laughed a little bit and pulled up a picture and was like oh my goodness she really does. It was a really good laugh, honestly.”
Thomas bought Layla in December and had her flown out to Houston after he moved into his new house the following month.
“She is great, full of energy, very outgoing, friendly towards everyone around her, and so much more,” said Thomas.
"She is a lover, and always wants to hug someone as well. She likes to sleep a lot too, just like myself.”
However, not everybody found the funny side to Layla’s picture with some users claiming it freaked them out.
One user said: "All the dogs with human eyes in this thread honestly freak me out.”
While another added: "This particular breed freaks me out because I always see a human face when I look at this type of dog.”
Thomas, who works as a DJ, added: “I've gone viral before but not outside of musical content so this was a little different.
“Getting a chance to see other peoples pets in comments and how they resembled some faces that we might know.
“I didn't think too much of it for it to be an extremely viral post, it kind of just happened. It's funny how things work out though.”
Will Ferrell, 54, is set to star in Spirited, a musical version of a Charles Dickens story, alongside Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer and Sunita Mani, this year.
It will mark the third collaboration of Will Ferrell, Sean Anders and John Morris, after the two Daddy's Home movies.
IMDb says Spirited will follow the story of a "miserly man who treats everyone around him with terrible selfishness".
The man finds himself on an adventure into the three phases of time: past, present, and future, in order to discover how he ended up so miserable and alone.
