Man leaps overboard as yacht erupts in flames at Lake Macquarie

A man has leapt to safety and swum to shore at Lake Macquarie after a 30-foot yacht burst into flames and sank overnight.

The alarm was first raised with firefighters just before 9pm on Monday, August 11, before a multi-agency emergency response unfolded.
