A man killed his friend with a single punch after finding out he had a fling with his ex-girlfriend.
Paul Brierley, 44, attacked window cleaner Paul Ologbose, from Wigan, during a night out at the Higher Fold Sports and Social Club in Leigh. The friends had both been drinking at the club and were said to be "very drunk" before the attack.
It came after an earlier confrontation between Brierley and another friend about comments he made towards his young son in jest, which resulted in Brierley punching them, the MEN reports. As they went outside, Brierley told his friend that he "should have told him" about Mr Ologbose and his ex-partner Cheryl, who were said to have had a fling in November 2021.
