A man has died following a crash on an Ayrshire road in the early hours of the morning.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the smash on the A77 near Ballantrae at around 12.40am on Sunday.
The major road was closed for 11 hours to allow emergency services to work.
Police have confirmed today that enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the A77 near Ballantrae around 12.40am on Sunday, 14 May.
"One man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
