A violent thug jailed this week for attempting to murder his 32-week pregnant ex is in protective custody as there is a “price on his head”.
Dean Paget, 36, pleaded guilty to attempting to murder former partner Lisa Ward, and accepted the facts in relation to a charge of intentionally ending the life of a foetus – his own unborn child. Paget, who told his victim he would “rip” their unborn daughter from her as he punched and kicked her in the stomach, was jailed for 13 years on Tuesday.
A source said the brute, currently housed at Mountjoy Prison in Dublin, is not liked by other inmates due to his sickening crime, and allegedly has a price on head. The source said: “Paget is currently on protection as there are serious threats against him – there is a price on his head due to the crime he committed.
“Being a baby killer is deemed the lowest of the low by other inmates; he will not get an easy time in prison, that’s for sure. Paget is currently also on suicide watch as a precautionary measure.”
Paget, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to attempting to murder Lisa Ward on April 25, 2021 at Montague Lane in Dublin city centre. CCTV footage showed Paget subjecting Ms Ward to what the judge described as a “series of vicious assaults and appalling threats to her and her baby’s life.”
Paget referenced the child by the name they had chosen, Ruby Rose, and said he would “rip her out of you.” The victim said: “All I wanted was my little girl. I don’t know how I’m going to face life.”
