Man jailed after dragging pensioner to floor and stealing her bank cards in Slough

Michael Fenwick has been sentenced for robbery and fraud offences - (Thames Valley Police)

A man has been jailed after dragging a pensioner to the ground and stealing her bank cards in Slough.

Michael Fenwick was sentenced to two years and nine months behind bars after admitting to robbery and fraud offences.

Reading Crown Court heard that he approached a 74-year-old woman in the car park of Tesco in Brunel Way, Slough, on June 28.

He then dragged her to the ground, took her handbag, and later used her bank cards twice before being arrested, according to Thames Valley Police.

The 33-year-old was charged with the offences at the same court on June 29 and entered guilty pleas. He was sentenced on Thursday.

Investigating officer, detective sergeant Joshua Webb, based at Slough police station, said: “Fenwick committed this robbery against a 74-year-old woman in broad daylight.

“He was arrested on the day of the offence and then quickly charged.

“This type of offence is never tolerated and I hope that this case shows how seriously crimes of this nature are taken.”
