A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an incident in the early hours near Glasgow Central train station.
Emergency services were called to Gordon Street at around 3.35am on Friday June 9, following reports that a man had suffered serious injures following an attack.
He was taken in an ambulance to the nearby Glasgow Royal Infirmary where his condition has been described as serious.
Detectives are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Anyone who was in the area at the time has been asked to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.35am on Friday, 9 June, police were called to a report of a man found injured in Gordon Street, Glasgow.
"He was taken by Ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
“Detectives are currently carrying out enquiries in the area to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this serious assault and anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 0368.
"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
