When it comes to needing a last-minute dog sitter, many people turn to their friends or family to watch over their pet while they're busy for a few hours. But not everybody has this privilege. Some owners have no other option but to hire a professional to mind their dog - but as long as you've done your research, this shouldn't be a problem.
A man has been left in hysterics over the note his pet sitter wrote out explaining why his dog, named Ella, didn't leave her food bowl clear after teatime. Not wanting to keep his dog's cheeky antics to himself, he shared the note on Reddit with the caption: "After a night out, we came home to find this note from the dog sitter."
It reads: "Thanks for inviting me to hang with your adorable doggos!
"Ella only ate half her food. I tried giving it to her several times but after my final attempt, she farted on me and ran away, so I guess she wasn't hungry."
While most users couldn't help but laugh at the dog's "troubled tummy", others praised the dog sitter for her "terrific" sense of humour.
One user said: "The dog sitter knows how to have a laugh. Poor dog probably missed her owners."
Another user joked: "In my culture, farting on someone is how we show love and I think that's beautiful."
A third user said: "I wonder if she will accept another job from them? Or if it's one fart and you're out?"
It comes after a homeowner was forced to install a sign outside her house after her neighbours shared their concerns about her dog's unusual behaviour.
Explaining how her golden retriever has a tendency to 'hang out' on the roof of her house, she has assured them he is safe and well taken care of.
The sign reads: "Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball!
"We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door - we know he's up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world!"
Before installing the sign, the woman would have four to five people knocking on her door per week, asking: "Do you realise there's a dog on your roof?".
She says this dropped to once or twice per week as some still "miss the sign when they're walking up" to the house.
After the dog's picture was shared on Reddit, the woman started answering users' 'burning questions' about her adventurous golden retriever.
When asked whether she can hear him walking around the roof when indoors, the owner said: "Yes, its annoying, especially with an infant who's trying to nap.
"The worst is when someone starts waving at him and he bolts to the front of the house - I'm surprised all my shingles are still intact."
And when asked whether he has ever "pooped on the roof", she joked: "Now that you've said that... I've have been wondering why my gutters have been clogged and there aren't any trees around them..."
