A person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being involved in an alleged hit and run. Police are appealing for information after the collision which happened in Abertillery on Friday night.
A 25-year-old man from Abertillery was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serious injuries following the collision at around 11.30pm on Friday in Gaen Street. Police are now looking to identify the driver of a red Seat Ibiza which was involved in the collision, after they reportedly left the scene.
Wales' air ambulance also attended the scene, and the pedestrian is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

A statement from Gwent Police said: "We’re appealing for witnesses after receiving a report of a road traffic collision in Gaen Street, Abertillery at around 11.30pm on Friday 14 April. Officers attended, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance. The collision involved one car – a red Seat Ibiza – and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a 25-year-old man from Abertillery, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff with serious injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition. The driver of the Seat reportedly left the scene following the collision and enquiries are ongoing to identify this person. We’re appealing for anyone with information, including CCTV, or motorists with dashcam, to contact us."
