Emergency services scrambled and road shut after stabbing

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Salford this afternoon. Police were called to Churchill Way at 3.40pm after reports of a knife attack.

The victim has been hospitalised but is said to be in a 'stable' condition. The road is closed in both directions as police investigate at the scene.

Officers have taped off Churchill Way outside the Winston pub, with several police vehicles remaining in the area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A GMP spokesman said: "We were called at around 3.40pm today (29 October) to a report of a stabbing on Churchill Way, Salford. Officers attended and established a man had suffered a suspected stab wound.

"He is being taken to hospital in a thankfully stable condition."
