Man in critical condition after serious road crash on busy Scots road

A pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious road crash in Glasgow.

The collision took place on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands, Glasgow, near the junction with Holmbank Avenue.

A Ford Fiesta and a 69-year-old male pedestrian were involved in the incident which took place at around 11.30pm on Friday, March 4.

The pedestrian was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The motorist, a 30-year-old man, was uninjured, Police Scotland have confirmed.

Sergeant Kenny Malaney from the Greater Glasgow Road Policing Unit said: “We’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or was in the area around that time and may have potential dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 4320 of 4 March.”
