Officers investigating a serious collision which left a man hospitalised have appealed for information.
Shortly before 3pm yesterday (Tuesday) Northumbria Police were contacted by the ambulance service and were informed of a collision between a motorcycle and car on Kingsway North, near to the junction with Fifth Avenue at Team Valley in Gateshead.
It was understood that a red Kia Ceed had been travelling northbound on the road when, for reasons yet to be established, it was involved in a collision with a purple Yamaha motorcycle, which then collided with a nearby tree.
