A man is in a critical condition after an attack in Sligo on Tuesday evening.
The man, aged in his 30s, was found with head injuries at Rockwood Parade at 6pm.
Paramedics rushed the man to Sligo University Hospital - he has since been transferred to Beaumont in Dublin
A garda spokesperson said: "Shortly after 6p.m., emergency services attended the scene and treated a man (late 30's) for an apparent head injury and he was removed to Sligo University Hospital. He has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where his condition is described as critical.

"The scene was preserved and a forensic examination has been conducted.
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Any persons who were in the vicinity on Tuesday evening from 5p.m. to 6.15p.m. and also any persons who may have camera footage or dash cam footage from the location at the time of the incident to make it available to them.
