Man in Concert Square video identified as police plan arrest

A man seen in "damaging" videos of two people having sex in Concert Square has been identified and police are moving in to make an arrest.

Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO detectives in charge of the case had identified the man, and would be now making efforts to arrest him. A woman suspected of being in the videos was charged this morning.

A woman, Kelly Cousins, of Merton Street, Bootle, was questioned and charged on suspicion of outraging public decency. The 35-year-old was bailed with conditions not to enter Liverpool City Centre and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 20.

Liverpool mayor Joanne Anderson yesterday slammed the behaviour as "damaging and criminal". Merseyside Police also issued a strongly worded statement urging people "to refrain from sharing the video on social media".

Merseyside Police launched its investigation yesterday after the videos of the two people began circulating on social media early on Tuesday, August 2.
