A man has died in a fall while climbing in the Lake District with his daughter. It took place at Raven Cragg, Borrowdale at about 1pm on Sunday, mountain rescue volunteers said.
The dad, believed to be in his 40s, was seen to fall 'some distance' by a climbing guide and his client scaling a nearby crag. The guide immediately called 999 and requested mountain rescue, then abseiled down to help.
The man sadly died from injuries sustained in the fall. Volunteers from Keswick Mountain Rescue Team and members of members of a team RAF Leeming, who were in the area, attended the scene.

They were assisted by the Great North Air Ambulance and the coast guard helicopter. The operation lasted around four and a half hours.
His daughter was found at the bottom of the crag and taken by helicopter to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for checks. She was discharged on Monday.
A spokesperson for Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: "The rescue teams approached from below and were able to reach the man in Raven Crag Gully. Despite the best efforts of everyone, tragically the man died from the injuries sustained from his fall.
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends."
