Man hospitalised, home invaders allegedly pulled out shotgun, knife, tyre iron

A man has been hospitalised after four armed home invaders allegedly assaulted him demanding the keys to his car.

ACT police released CCTV footage of four people dressed in light-coloured hoodies and dark pants, believed to have entered the home in Kambah about 6.45pm on October 21.

The group is accused of pulling out a shotgun in the house while also carrying a tyre iron and a large knife, police said.

They allegedly attacked the male resident by repeatedly hitting his head.

A teenager who was also at home at the time of the incident managed to leave the location and ask neighbours for help.

In the released video, the intruders appear to be running towards the resident's white BMW, hurriedly entering the vehicle and eventually driving away in it.

"The group then fled the scene in a stolen white BMW X3 bearing ACT registration AYAA67G," a police spokesperson said.

ACT Policing officers and ACT Ambulance were called and the injured man was taken to hospital.

Since the incident, the stolen white BMW is said to have escaped police multiple times.

"The BMW has been involved in several fail to stop incidents with police," the spokesperson said.

Police appealed for public assistance to identify the four people captured in the video.

Anyone with information about the home invasion in Kambah or the whereabouts of the BMW, was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

They were asked to quote reference number 7880406.
