A man has been hospitalised after sustaining a "knife injury" to his arm. Police were called to Sandon Street, New Basford, shortly after 11am on Saturday, July 16 following reports that a man had been assaulted.
The victim sustained a knife injury to his arm and has been taken to hospital. Police have cordoned off the area and will remain there for much of the afternoon as investigations continue.

“Nottinghamshire Police treats all incidents of knife crime with the utmost seriousness and works hard throughout the year to educate potential perpetrators and take weapons off the streets.”
Carol Scarborough, 73, who is retired and lives on Ford Street, said: “I’ve lived around here since 1966 and I’ve never seen anything like it. Usually quite quiet down here, you have the occasional police car but nothing like this. I don’t really know what happened but it’s shocking for us.”
A resident who did not wish to be named and lives right next to cordon on Sandon Street said: “I saw the police going past earlier but didn’t even notice the cordons until now. It’s a bit of a surprise because I didn’t hear anything really. There’s always police coming through here. Been here three years and I’ve never seen them set up like this.”
The incident occurred just hours after a serious assault in Mansfield Road in Nottingham city centre. The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered significant facial injuries after he was assaulted with what are believed to be blunt weapons. He remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Two men, aged 41 and 38, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody. Detectives investigating what happened would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or heard the assault, which happened near the junction of Fulforth Street.
