Police are investigating after a man was found with serious head injuries on a Cardiff street. South Wales Police were called to Marion Street in Splott just before 3pm on Sunday, March 5 to reports of a man with serious injuries. The road was closed in both directions while enquiries continued.
Police say they are still looking into the full circumstances behind the incident and are encouraging anyone who was in the vicinity at the time or may have any information to get in touch with them.
There was a police cordon blocking the road in both directions on Sunday night with forensic officers also in attendance. South Wales Police confirmed that the man was taken to hospital with his injuries where he remains receiving treatment.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Raikes said: "South Wales Police was called just before 2:30pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday 5th March, to a report of a male with serious head injuries on Marion Street, Splott, in Cardiff.
“Inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the full circumstances behind the incident however I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity around that time who may have any information, or dashcam footage, to get in touch.”
