A man has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a gang of teens in North Lanarkshire.
The incident took place around 7.30pm on Thursday, September 29 when the 32-year-old was set upon by a group of thugs on a pathway near Earlston Crescent in the town of Coatbridge.
The suspects were aged between 15 and 16 years old and were wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault. The victim was taken to University Hospital Monklands where he received treatment and was later discharged.
The severity of the man's injuries is not yet known. Officers have now launched an investigation in a bid to identify the culprits, and are asking anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the event to get in touch.
Detective Constable Lyndsay McKinnon of Coatbridge CID said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this to come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around that time.
“Anyone who may have information which could assist our enquiries are asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 3070 of Thursday, 29 September, 2022.
