Man held for running army job racket

In a joint operation, officials of the military intelligence and the Chitradurga district police nabbed a 40-year-old man for running an army job racket and cheating over 150 unemployed youth of ₹1 crore, promising to get them placement in the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Based on a complaint filed by Prakash from Davangere district, the officials arrested Sivaraj Vatagal, a resident of Hubballi, who is a deserter from the Indian Army.

The Srirampura police registered an FIR against Sivaraj and his accomplice Beemmava. The police seized fake identity cards and army recruitment documents from him.

The accused has been booked under cheating and impersonation and taken into custody.
