A man was seen hanging off a balcony during a six hour stand off with police in Kirkby.
Emergency services were called to Quarry Green Heights at around 1pm on Monday afternoon. It is believed that a man was attempting to get into one of the flats.
He was recognised as someone from the area, with a restraining order. As officers arrived at the scene on Daleside Road and a man was spotted on the balcony of a first floor apartment.

Police attempted to arrest the man who refused to come down, sparking a six hour stand off with officers. Pictures taken from flats above show the man leaning on the railings and swinging back and forward.
Shortly before 7pm, the man on the balcony agreed to come down and was arrested by officers. He was immediately put into the back of a police van.
Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue cordoned off the road for most of the day before being stood down on Monday evening.
Officers confirmed to the ECHO that a 37-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of breach of a civil injunction. A spokesperson said: "We were called to Quarry Green in Northwood, Kirkby at 1pm today (Monday 1 August), following reports a male with a restraining order had been sighted in the area. Officers attended, carried out a search of the area and a male was seen on the balcony of a property.
"Police engaged with the man, who came down from the balcony shortly before 7pm. The 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of breach of a civil injunction. He will be taken into custody and questioned by police."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at Quarry Green Kirkby. "Crews were alerted at 2.54pm and on scene at 2.57pm.
"Two fire engines are in attendance as well as the search and rescue appliance. Fire crews are standing by and liaising with Merseyside Police."
