Man gets message and photo from his DoorDasher. How would you feel about this?: ‘Just deliver my food bro’

Anyone who has ordered food through delivery apps knows freshness isn’t always guaranteed. Drivers have to pick up one (or many) orders and head to different locations, which can be minutes or miles away. While freshness is usually a priority for most customers, it wasn’t for this man after posting his DoorDash driver’s unorthodox method to keep orders warm.

What Is This DoorDash Driver’s Technique?

TikTok creator Ryder (@ryderk1ng_001) uploads a screenshot of messages from his DoorDash driver, Ronald. Instantly, the first message he receives is random.

“It’s how I keep your food hot,” the driver wrote. Below it is a photo of the red insulated DoorDash delivery bag in the passenger seat with the opening connected to a metal pipe attached to the heating system to trap the warmth.

Then, the driver adds words of reassurance to sweeten the deal. “You’ll be enjoying it hot when I arrive in about 15 minutes. See you then,” he adds followed by, “Don’t worry. I know where you live.” However, the content creator’s response in the text overlay proves his lack of concern. “Just deliver my food bro,” he expresses indifferently.

Viewers Had Mixed Reactions

Ryder’s photo racked up over 848,000 views, sparking division among viewers. Many criticized Ronald, believing this is a trick to earn a higher tip and rating.

“Begging for the 5 stars,” one viewer remarked.

“He just wants a tip,” a second commented.

A third decided to attack the method altogether, “Cabin Air filter ain’t been changed in years.”

Meanwhile, others quickly jumped to the DoorDash driver’s defense by praising his work ethic.

“[expletive] dasher tries to go above and beyond and yall still gonna drag em?” one commenter asked.

“That’s kinda sweet,” a second complimented.

“Ronald is taking this job more seriously than any job I’ve ever had,” a third stated.

As it turned out, Ryder rewarded Ronald for going the extra mile. “I gave bro $2 after when i ordered the food and an extra 2 after the food delivered,” he shared in the comments section.

Is This Effective?

Using a car’s heating systems (vents, seats, and floors to name a few) can retain fast food’s heat. However, this is most effective during short distances. For longer trips, Mashed recommends keeping the food in a spot away from them, especially during warmer weather, because people usually have the air conditioning on or the windows rolled down. Since we’re in the midst of winter, the outlet suggests not raising the heater to more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit as it can cause dangerous bacteria to spread and lead to foodborne illnesses, thus making it dangerous to eat. Ultimately, the best thing to do is to put the food in an insulated bag, per Yahoo.
