CHENNAI: A man in his 40s was found dead with his hands and legs tied at a canal near Kelambakkam on Wednesday morning.
Local residents noticed the body and informed the Kelambakkam police.
Police who fished out the body from the canal, found injuries on the head. His hands and legs were tied up and a cross tattoo was found in his left hand. The body was in a decomposed state.
Police suspect the killers could have murdered the man elsewhere and dumped the body in the canal. Efforts are on to establish the identity of the man. Police have sent his body for postmortem. They are checking the missing people list in the last one week from Mamallapuram, Kalpakkam and also Chennai. tnn
