A man, aged in his 60s, has died following a fire in a house in Dublin city this morning.
The alarm was raised just before 10am on Wednesday when passers-by noticed a building was on fire.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the blaze which was in a small residential property located directly beside the Ashling Hotel on Parkgate Street.
Numerous units of Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the scene and the fire was quickly brought under control.
The body of the man was found inside the residential property by emergency services after the fire was extinguished.

A post mortem will take place in the coming days.
A Garda spokesperson said: "At approximately 9:55am this morning, Wednesday 29th June 2022, Gardai received a report of a fire at a property on Parkgate Street, Dublin 8.
"Gardai and emergency services attended the scene and the fire was extinguished by Fire Services.
"The body of a man, aged in his 60s, was discovered inside the property. His body has been removed to the city morgue where a post-mortem will take place at a later date."
