A man was left speechless after finding a staggering £6million inside a storage unit he bought at a second-hand auction - for £390.
Dan Dotson, who is host of the US hit TV show Storage Wars, revealed one of his buyers made the life changing discovery after their bid at the second-hand auction in 2018.
The auctioneer took to social media where he explained in a clip he was told about the jaw-dropping amount at a charity event in California.
Dan said: “An older Asian woman at the table next to me kept looking at me like she wanted to tell me something.
"Eventually she walked up and told me her husband works with a guy who bought a unit from me for $500 and found a safe inside.
"And the first person they called to open it I guess couldn't or didn't.
“They called a second person and when that person opened it up - inside the safe they're normally empty, but this time it wasn't empty.
“It had $7.5million (£5.8m) cash inside."
Unfortunately, the auction buyer wasn't able to keep hold of the money after the anonymous buyer was contacted by a lawyer, who claimed to represent the original owners of the unit.
Dan told The Blast the buyer of the £390 storage unit was reportedly offered a £465,000 reward for the money by their lawyer but that offer was turned down.
A second offer concluded a compromise which saw an offer of £930,000 accepted which meant the anonymous buyer had to return the rest of the millions.
It left TV host Dan flabbergasted at how anyone could forget £6million inside a second hand storage unit.
He said: "$7.5million inside of a unit, I don't think you'd forget it but maybe you were just in a position where somebody else was in charge of it, I don't know."
Co-star and wife Laura said: "Credit card went bad, it was finished, they moved away, perhaps the person went to jail - who knows what it was."
