Man fighting for life in hospital after 'murder bid' in Scots town

A man is in hospital fighting for his life after an alleged attempted murder in Bo'ness.

The 62-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after the incident on Wednesday, around 6.30pm.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital and a 24-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder. He is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.

Police are urging anyone with information after the incident, which allegedly took place within a property in Barony Court in the town, to come forward.

Detective Inspector William Harley said: “A man has been seriously injured as a result of this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and may have seen or heard anything to get in touch.

“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and officers are carrying out enquiries in the area. We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider public but anyone with concerns should speak to officers.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2842 of Wednesday, 14 September, 2022, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
