A man is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run in Edinburgh.
We told how police were called to Broomhouse Drive on Thursday.
The alarm was raised at around 6.30pm.
A 40-year-old pedestrian was found injured at the scene and rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Medics describe his condition as critical but stable.
An image shared with the Daily Record showed a number of police cars an an ambulance at the scene.
Police on Friday revealed that the motor did not stop at the scene and a manhunt is underway to trace the driver.
Broomhouse Drive was sealed off but has since reopened.
Officers probing the incident urge anyone with information to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 6.30pm on Thursday, April 14 officers attended a report of a 40-year-old male pedestrian seriously injured on Broomhouse Drive in Edinburgh after he was involved in a collision with a vehicle.
"The male was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as critical but stable.
"The vehicle involved did not stop at the scene and enquires are ongoing to identify the driver.
"The road has since been reopened.
“Any information should be passed to police by calling 101, quoting incident number 2846 of 14 April, 2022.”
