Air ambulance lands on beach after man falls off Southport Pier
A man was airlifted to hospital after falling from Southport Pier.
Emergency services were called to Southport beach at around 5pm on Monday, August 15 to reports a man had fallen from the pier. An air ambulance attended the incident and was filmed landing in the water.
A police spokesperson said: " Merseyside Police can confirm that emergency services were at Southport Pier yesterday afternoon (Monday 15 August) at around 5pm following reports that a man had fallen from the pier.

"The man in his 30’s suffered spinal injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The Pier was temporary closed whilst Coastguard and Merseyside Fire and Rescue services were also at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.
"At present there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident."

Teen thrown from stolen motorbike as drug courier crashes into car
Shocking CCTV shows the moment a teenager was thrown from a stolen motorbike when a drug courier from “Team Josh” crashed it into a car.
Thomas Kehoe crashed into the car on Halton Road in Runcorn at about 1.30pm on Thursday, June 9. The 29-year-old, of Lathum Close in Prescot, was seen in CCTV footage ploughing the Yamaha motorbike into the side of a Citroen DS 4.
Cheshire Police said the figure thrown through the air in the clip is likely to be Kehoe's 16-year-old pillion passenger who can be seen briefly sitting upright on the back before the impact. The teenager from Bootle was taken to Whiston Hospital with minor injuries and later arrested on suspicion of burglary over the motorbike.

Merseyrail services to be cut back at two stations to 'reduce disruption'
Merseyrail is to reduce services running from two of the region's stations.
From Monday August 22, the region's rail operator will reduce the frequency of trains at Green Lane and Bromborough Rake stations in Wirral from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes. All other stations on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines will remain the same.
Merseyrail says it is making the changes to the timetable in order to 'to improve the reliability of services and reduce the levels of disruption that have been seen in recent months.
