Man downs 10,000-calorie four-litre 'freakshake', dubbed biggest in Britain, in 13 minutes

A man has become the fastest person to complete a monster 10,000-calorie meal, dubbed the biggest in Britain.

Max Stanford, 35, also known as Max Vs Food on YouTube, has yet again broken another food challenge record after completing the meal in just over 13 minutes.

The challenge saw Max make his way through four waffles, two beef burgers, heaps of BBQ pulled pork, and a four-litre vanilla milkshake.

The charity worker and competitive eating hobbyist, from Brixton, London, managed to beat the previous record, set by Beard Meets Food, of 14 minutes, 28 seconds by just 34 seconds, coming in at a time of 00:13:54.

The meal, thought to be Britain's Biggest Freakshake, is the creation of American diner, Huckleberry's in York, which sees challengers eat more than 10,000 kcal and a whopping ten pounds of sugar-rich foods.

Max said: "The freakshake was definitely a challenge, as just the day before I'd also competed in a 50oz steak-eating contest, so my stomach hadn't recovered yet.

"According to Huckleberry's, this is one of their hardest challenges out of the seven different ones that they offer.

"I have a huge sweet tooth, so the sweeter side definitely appealed to me, but the sweet and savoury combination just worked so well together.

"From the salty bacon to the sweet waffles with maple syrup and beef patties, they all complimented each other so well, and that was just the topping.

"The vanilla milkshake was amazing too, but it was huge at four litres."

Despite enjoying the sweet treat offering, the challenge still came with difficulties.

"The brain freeze was horrible", he said.

"After eating my way through the toppings, I chug down the milkshake for a solid minute before I had to stop and take a breather due to how bad the brain freeze was.

"On top of that, I could just feel the cold seeping through my stomach as well, which made it even harder to finish, but I pushed on as I knew it was a race against time to beat the record.

"My friend, John Dawes, 43, who goes by Food and the Beast, couldn't quite manage the challenge and it ended up coming back up for him."

A crowd of Huckleberry diners gathered to watch Max and John tackle the challenge, reacting with glee and support along the way.

Max said: "Everyone applauded at the end when I beat the record and gave words of encouragement to John as he carried on eating and drinking.

"Everyone loved watching us do the challenge, and I can't wait to go back there to do their 'Slidergeddon' and cookie dough challenges."

To stomach the colossal food challenges he takes on, Max combines daily cardio training at the gym with eating salads and healthy alternatives on non-challenge days.
