Man dies two days after alleged assault in car park of McDonald's at Elizabeth in Adelaide

A man who was allegedly assaulted in a McDonald's car park in Adelaide's northern suburbs on Sunday has died.

Emergency services were called to the car park of the fast food restaurant at Elizabeth after reports of an assault.

The victim, 51-year-old Thawng Hu, of Para Hills West, suffered a head injury and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

SA Police said he died in hospital on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man from Elizabeth Grove was arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing harm.

Police say the men were not known to each other but the assault is not considered random.

They say more charges may be laid against the accused man.

He was bailed to appear before the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in March.
