Man dies in serious crash that closed Creswell road for hours

A man has died after a serious crash that closed a road just over the Nottinghamshire border. The incident, which involved a Subaru Impreza and black Ford Focus, happened on the B6042 Crags Road, near Creswell, Derbyshire, just before 12noon on Sunday, April 30.

The driver of the Focus, a man in his 40s, died at the scene, Derbyshire Live reports. His family has been informed of the incident, although formal identification has yet to take place.

A passenger in the Ford and the driver of the Subaru were taken to hospital. A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: "The road was closed for a number of hours to allow for recovery and investigation of the scene to take place, but it has since reopened.

"Enquiries are continuing and any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles in the moments before should contact us quoting reference 471 of 30 April.
