Man dies in Scots house fire tragedy as cops probe inferno

A man has tragically died in a house fire in Aberdeenshire, police have confirmed.

The alarm was raised of reports of a fire at around 12.55pm on Friday at a property on Townhead Avenue in Inverurie.

Emergency services raced to the property but unfortunately a man died at the scene, Aberdeen Live reports.

Police have said that enquiries are ongoing into the incident but the fire is "not believed to be suspicious".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.55pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, police received a report of a fire in Townhead Avenue, Inverurie.

"Emergency services attended and a man died at the scene.

"His next of kin has been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing but the fire is not believed to be suspicious."
