A man has tragically died after police received report of a concern for person in a Scots property on Saturday evening.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Rosehill Crescent, Aberdeen, and a 39-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Sadly, he could not be saved and died in hospital a short time later.
A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with an assault and enquiries are ongoing.
Forensic officers were spotted in the area shortly after 12pm today as a police cordon was put in place.
Police Scotland confirmed the incident has also been referred to the Police Investigation and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
A PIRC spokesperson said: “We have been directed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to investigate the circumstances of the death of 39-year-old man following an incident involving police in Aberdeen on 27 May 2023. Once the investigation is concluded, a report on our findings will be submitted to the COPFS for consideration.”
A spokesperson said: “Around 10.45pm on Saturday, 27 May, 2023, police received a report of concern for a 39-year-old man within a property on Rosehill Crescent in Aberdeen.
“The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
“A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with an assault and enquiries are ongoing.
“The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and the Police Investigation and Review Commissioner (PIRC) have been informed and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment further.”
