Man dies in hospital after being pulled from water at Scots harbour

A man has sadly died in hospital after being pulled from the water at a Scots harbour.

Police were called to Peterhead Harbour in Aberdeenshire at around 10.35pm on Saturday January 23 amids reports of a person in the water.

A 56-year-old man was recovered from and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

He was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the hospital.

Police Scotland said there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding his death, and that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.

A force spokesman said: “Around 10.35pm on Saturday, January 22, officers were called to Peterhead Harbour.

“A 56-year-old man was recovered from the water and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.”
