A murder investigation has been launched after a man stabbed in Camden died from his injuries nearly two weeks later.
Suleyman Nuh, 25, was knifed in Alvanley Gardens on the afternoon of January 29 and rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Despite the efforts of emergency services and passersby who stopped to help, he died on Monday, February 9.
Police were called to the scene at 4.27pm and arrived within eight minutes to find Mr Nuh with serious injuries.
Officers worked with members of the public who had stopped to assist, managing to stabilise him before paramedics took him to hospital.
The following day, detectives arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Mr Nuh's family are being supported by specialist officers following his death.
The Met's Major Investigation Team has taken over the case.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the area, said: "My thoughts remain with Suleyman's family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time.
"I am aware of concerns in the local community, but I would like to reassure people that this is believed to have been an isolated incident and there is no information at this time to suggest this was a racially-motivated attack. We have increased patrols in the local area and I would ask anyone with concerns to speak to my officers. A 21-year-old man has already been charged with attempted murder in connection with this incident.
"I want to express my thanks to the first responders, who were on the scene within minutes, and the members of the public who did everything they could to save Suleyman's life. Their actions gave his family the opportunity to say goodbye."
