An elderly man has died at a harbour after police received reports about people struggling in the water.
The man, who was in his 70s, was pulled out of Sutton Harbour and declared dead at the scene.
Police were called to the scene at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, PlymouthLive reports.
By the time officers arrived they discovered two people had already been lifted out of the water and were receiving CPR from members of the public.
Last night, a cordon was put in place around North Quay near the junction with Hawkers Avenue in Plymouth.
A marine accident investigation is set to be launched into the death.

The scene is still cordoned off this morning.
At around 11pm, not long after the British Firework Championship display ended nearby, four police vehicles, two ambulances, and a coastguard vehicle were reported to be in attendance.
People often park at Sutton Harbour to watch the annual firework display.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called just after 10.30pm on Wednesday 17 August with reports of people in the water and in distress in Sutton Harbour, Plymouth. Units attended along with Coastguard Search and Rescue.
"By the time emergency services had arrived, two people were out of the water thanks to the swift action of the public who were also undertaking CPR on an unconscious man.
"Despite the best efforts by all at the scene, the man who was in his 70’s and from the Kingsbridge area, was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
"One woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and should make a full recovery.
"This death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
"This incident will also be referred to the Marine Accident Investigation Branch."
