A man died after falling from a bridge on the M56. The incident happened at around 8pm on Tuesday (September 6) near Runcorn.
Emergency services attended the scene after receiving reports about the concern for the safety of a man seen on the bridge. Cheshire Police say a man was seen to fall from the bridge and officers gave him medical attention. Despite their effort, the man died at the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said there were no suspicious circumstances and a file would be prepared for the coroner. Paramedics from North West Ambulance Service were also on scene, reports CheshireLive.

The incident led to the closure of part of the motorway for three hours. Trapped traffic had to be turned around and diversions put in place.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 8.10pm on Tuesday, September 6, police were called to a bridge over the M56 at Preston Brook following reports of concern for safety.
"A man was seen to fall from the bridge. Officers attended the scene and gave the man medical attention, but he sadly died. There are no suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
