A man has died after being bitten by a dog and going into cardiac arrest. North Wales Police confirmed that a 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following an incident in Wrexham on Monday.
Paramedics and police attended the scene but the man could not be saved. The dog was destroyed at the scene. The police force said that they had responded to a request to attend an address in Holt Road in Wrexham to assist an ambulance crew at the scene at 11.44am on Monday, May 23, NorthWalesLive reports.
A police force spokesman said: "Welsh Ambulance Service reported that a 62-year-old male was in cardiac arrest after being bitten by a dog at the property. Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s next of kin have been informed and our enquiries into this incident remain ongoing."

The police spokesman added: "Family members have requested that their privacy is respected at this time. The dog was securely contained at the property and was euthanised by a vet at the scene. Other dogs kept at the property have been removed by trained dog handlers and will be temporarily kennelled whilst inquiries are ongoing."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said they had been called at 11.33am to "reports of a medical emergency". They added: "We sent three emergency ambulances, two rapid response vehicles and the Wales Air Ambulance to the scene."
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported seeing at least 10 police cars along with dog units. The air ambulance was spotted landing at 12pm before taking off again an hour and a quarter later. Holt Road remained closed until around 6pm while it was reported that some people in neighbouring properties were told to leave their homes during the incident.
