A man has died after being pulled from the sea. Emergency services treated the man at the scene and he was taken to hospital but was sadly pronounced dead.
Officers were alerted to the incident at Benllech Beach, Anglesey, shortly after 8am on Tuesday, March 29. Both the Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Police attended after receiving reports of a 50-year-old man who had been pulled from the sea in an unresponsive state.
The 50-year-old was transported to Ysbyty Gwynned however he was pronounced dead. Police say enquiries are ongoing.
North Wales Police said in a statement to NorthWalesLive : "Shortly after 8am yesterday (29 March) officers attended Benllech beach following a report from Welsh Ambulance Service. The report related to concerns for a 50-year-old man who had been pulled from the sea in an unresponsive state.
"Officers and paramedic crews attended the scene before the man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance. Attempts to revive the male were unsuccessful and, sadly, he was later pronounced dead. Officers are currently liaising with the man’s family and our enquiries into this incident remain ongoing."
