A man has described his "truly horrible experience" at a Welsh A&E ward. Due to a serious medical emergency, Robin Jenkins spent 22 hours in the emergency unit at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
He described how he and fellow patients were "herded together on hard metal seats" and how he was sat next to a man having a suspected heart attack, a woman with a severe facial injury after a fall and witnessed another person collapse onto the floor whilst waiting.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board has apologised for his experience, explaining how during the time Mr Jenkins was at the hospital, every clinical area was at full capacity. For more Cardiff news sign up to our city newsletter
