Man denies attempted murder of girl shot on way back from school

A man has denied the attempted murder of a teenager who was shot on her way back from school.

A schoolgirl was seriously injured while standing at a bus stop in Toxteth. The 15-year-old was rushed to hospital after emergency services arrived at the scene of Upper Warwick Street at around 5.10pm of March 1..

A 20-year-old man was also taken to hospital after suffering a non life-threatening gunshot injury to his hand. Police confirmed that the two incidents were linked.

Rio Jones appeared via videolink at Liverpool Crown Court today. The 19-year-old of Jermyn Street, Toxteth, pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a class B drug.

Woman found dead on tracks at Liverpool railway station

A woman was found dead on the tracks of West Allerton train station.

British Transport Police confirmed that at around 10.26pm on Saturday, April 2 officers and paramedics were called to the station. A woman was found on the tracks and later pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "[We] were called to West Allerton station at 10.26pm on 2 April following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to establish the full circumstances behind their death."

Denise Van Outen's message to Liverpool after day out in city

Denise Van Outen has shared photos of her 'having the best time' visiting Liverpool.

The TV star was in the city for The Masked Singer tour at the M&S Bank Arena this weekend. Denise took to Instagram to share her visits to some of the city's biggest attractions.

Sharing several photos of her trip, Denise, 47, visited Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant Bread Street Kitchen. She also visited Liverpool One and the Albert Dock.
